ABOUT US
We are a group of students and professors from Technical School No. 5 in Mar del Plata. We are working together to build the first PicoSatelite in South America. This team is divided into smaller groups to organize the tasks and accelerate the progress.
PROJECT AND
EXTRAS
SatDuino is based on creating a PocketCube using low cost technologies (Arduino, LoRa Communications). Besides, the project will be extended in order to create EduAR-SAT plan, which goal will be to bring middle schools aerospace technology programs.
OBJECTIVES
*Create the first Argentine PicoSatellite, totally
built by students of public technical schools.
* Develop it, using low cost and high impact tecnologies.
* Introduce aerospace technologies in technical schools.
* Encourage to work focusing on STEAM, and achieve an interdisciplinary work to ensure contextualized and significant learning.
* Develop digital knowledge and promote computational thinking.
*Launch the National Program "EduAR-Sat", which will develop PicoSatellites and CanSat kits for middle schools of our country
ARQUITECTURA Y HARDWARE
All of our PCB and schematic designs are designed on Eagle
Autodesk.
1-CPU and communication board (OBS and COMMS). The
CPU is an Atmega 328 V1.0 chip, and the second version of it includes an Atmega 32u4 chip (educational use). The communication is made by LoRa using the RFM95 platelet, at 915MHZ.
2-The Power Subsystem is a PCB board which includes a solar battery load control and a MPPT.
3-The Payload PCB board has built-in sensors: humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, pollution and altitude sensors, in addition to a 9 axes gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer chip.
4-Ground Station: it is a PCB board with an ESP32 chip, a RFM95 LoRa module and an OLED.G screen.
DATA ANALITYCS Y AI
We will use a Dashboard created on IBM Cloud to analyze data, and use both Machine Learning and AI to get wheather predictions.
CONCLUSIONES
Este será el primer PocketQube Argentino realizado por alumnos de escuelas técnicas. Tenemos un gran desafío por delante en los próximos meses, conseguir financiamiento para terminar el lanzamiento del prototipo en la estratosfera. Además, crearemos en paralelo la primera plataforma educativa de Argentina para el desarrollo de tecnologías aeroespaciales en el nivel secundario de STEM para desarrollar futuros científicos e ingenieros

This is one of our first tests with a DTH11 temperature sensor and the beginning of the development of an IBM Cloud-based dashboard.
Testing the dashboard, now using 4 variables in order to emulate satellital data.
